So you want the latest smartphone in 2018 but do not want to pay ridiculous contract prices?
Contracts lock you down for 2 years, or often longer. This year (2018) Sky/Sky Mobile - who are new on to the smartphone scene - have begun to only offer contract mobiles for 30 month terms for example. The lengths, limitations and perhaps most significantly prices of contracts from all providers have increased substantially in the last 2 years.
The amount you pay for a smartphone on contract has always been disproportionate to the value of the phone itself however. The vast majority of UK consumers do not know this, but contract providers do - contract providers (i.e. the networks themselves and high street chains such as The Carphone Warehouse) profit massively from the lack of information there is out there about this.
Most of the time people think the cost of a contract is from the minutes, texts and data it comes with for example - when actually a 'sim only contract' can provide these (minutes, texts, data) for as little as £6 per month.
The very fact you are here however demonstrates that you are not like most people, and you are willing to get the best value for money you can when buying a new smartphone in 2018. And that best value can only be attained when buying your new smartphone outright.
Buying your new smartphone outright will save you up to £500 over just 2 years.
£500 is a lot of money - often the bulk if not the entire cost of the handset itself. This is a massive difference, and is too much to throw away / 'give in' for the apparent convenience of a monthly contract in our opinion.
Buying your new smartphone outright also means YOU own the phone!
When taking out a smartphone via a contract the contract provider also owns the phone until you have paid off said contract - again possibly up to 30 months after you have made your first payment.
Taking out a contract also impacts on your credit file - defaulting on it does even more so. Buying a smartphone outright obviously does not and ensures you do not fall into any of these possibilities.
Buying your new smartphone outright also gives you freedom!
Buying a phone outright means you are not 'chained to the network' and their contract terms - poor signal spots, rate rises, database hacks, your own circumstances (income change, family change etc) or simply want a different phone - there are a multitude of reasons why you may want to change network and get out of a mobile phone contract.
Buying outright gives you this freedom - you can even sell on your outright owned handset whenever you like. Its your property and yours to do with whatever you like.
When buying a high end smartphone outright (in particular an Apple iPhone) aren't they always charged at RRP?
Correct yes, that is if you limit yourself to buying from a 'major retailer' such as John Lewis, Argos, Tesco, Carphone Warehouse, or the manufacturers themselves (in particular Apple and Samsung) - they all charge full retail price and NEVER discount, unlike the good old days. The manufacturers simply do not allow this during the product's cycle.
Buying from a 3rd party such as us, or even from eBay etc. however means you can receive the same items at a (significantly) discounted rate.
But doesn't buying from a 3rd party (eBay etc) mean they are used phones?
Quite often yes, particularly through eBay many of the offerings on there are used phones, which is obviously not preferred. There are however exceptions to this where 3rd party sellers only offer new products.
You will be pleased to know we are on of those, and that ALL the phones we offer are brand new, still factory sealed. They have never been used, or even opened. You will be the first to open, register, and use any mobile phone you buy from us.
They will also all come with the same manufacturer warranty as you would get when buying a new smartphone from the manufacturer themselves. If you purchased an Apple iPhone from us for example, you would get a 1 year manufacturer warranty with Apple, from the date you first open and use the phone for the first time.
Put simply they are exactly as you would get if you were to walk into an Apple store and buy one from them - only here you do not have to pay Apple's prices!
Are the phones you sell tied to a network? I want my smartphone unlocked!
You will be pleased to know that all the smartphones we sell come Factory Unlocked. Unlike our competitor's offerings, our smartphones do not "lock to the first network sim entered" either, you can swap out and interchange SIM cards from any network, as often as you like.
This means you can use any SIM card (Pay As You Go or Contract) from any network provider in your new smartphone from us. We do not just mean any UK network either, literally any network SIM card in the world work in the smartphone.
OK so I now understand buying outright is the way to get best value. I also understand buying from a 3rd party allows me to do this the most cheaply. And that you offer new, unlocked products. But why should I buy from UK-Telecom? Why not elsewhere?
Quite simple, we have a proven track record. This is all we have done for the past 10 years - since the launch of the first iPhone in 2007 specifically. Approximately one third of our business stems from previous customers buying from us again.
We started out on eBay, which allowed us to demonstrate our customer service and reputation - see our customer feedback and testimonials here.
However we learned that the only way we can offer you the absolute BEST prices was by selling products without them, and their commission. We pass that saving on to you every time by selling to you direct. This allows us to be the cheapest (by far) in the UK, including eBay.
How am I protected when buying from you? I usually buy from bigger name retailers.
As well as offering the usual statutory 14 day return period, we offer PayPal as a payment method. When buyers pay with PayPal on any website, PayPal Buyer Protection covers them in case there is a problem. If an item doesn’t arrive or is significantly not as described, PayPal will help buyers get a full refund.
This is the same protection you would get buying through eBay for example. The only difference being that PayPal carry out the protection, rather than eBay - its the same standard of buyer protection, which is very substantial.
The fact that we even offer PayPal as a payment method should hopefully tell you that we stand behind our products and service.
Cash on collection (West Yorkshire) is also welcomed to those that like to see items in person before buying.
Once again much of our current business comes from past customers over the years purchasing from us again, or their family, friends etc. - which alone is a very humbling endorsement.
UK-Telecom have provided hundreds of businesses and individuals with the latest telecommunications solutions throughout the UK and around the globe.
We believe strongly that consumers should be aware of how to get the best value when it comes to buying a mobile smartphone in 2018. And we help them obtain this.
We offer the best possible rates with no hidden costs. Free Delivery. Free Hassle-Free Returns.
